Continuing Collabs

We experienced so much joy creating Collabitation, that we wanted to continue the process on the website. We moved to St. George for the fun, and that has meant biking the numerous trails, hiking into canyons, making new, artsy friends, and developing this collabitation process.

The beauty of the landscape, exotic growths, and animals that thrive despite the desperate conditions fascinates us. It’s rich with metaphors for living in these challenging times, which can hardly be called nurturing.

We find growth in every creative gesture. Dan captures compelling images, then transforms them while we shelter in place from ungodly temperatures. We write wildly for ten minutes, then read our impressions aloud to each other. Listening, caring, noticing our frames of reference. From those impressions, I use the words to do the poetry thing: curating words and ideas until they distill into a strange thought-provocation. Like the pictured cactus: prickly and enticing.
